Founded in 1248 by King Louis IX of France as a guild of goose roasters to the royalty and aristocracy.
Refounded in 1950 as this "Societe Gastronomique" La Chaîne is the world's largest gastronomique organization with over 25,000 members in more than 70 countries.
The U.S. Bailliage is home to over 120 Bailliages with more than 5,000 members. Vive la Chaîne!
